Trey’s Mysterious Morning It was a cool October morning. As Trey was getting ready for school, he overheard his brother talking to several of his friends. They were in the kitchen eating pumpkin muffins his mother had made for the group. Trey could hear some girl talking to the others, but he didn’t recognize her voice as one of his brothers friend. She was telling the others they should all boycott the school Halloween dance because there wasn’t going to be any candy but Trey was unable to hear that so he wandered what in the world was going on. He stood very still so they wouldn’t he was around.

There were lots of voices talking at once. Trey heard the girl shout, “listen”.

There were lots of voices talking at once. Trey heard the girl shout, “listen”. She said she would try to answer the questions if they talked one at a time. She asked everyone to whisper. Trey could hear the mumbles, but couldn’t understand anything they were saying. He put his ear to the vent in the floor, but could only hear mumbling. Suddenly, Trey heard a his brother’s voice shout, “strike”. “No, no” the girl’s voice said just as loud. “We can not miss any school we have a big game coming up. ” “Let’s try a boycott first. ” She called for a vote and the voices went back to whispers.
