The purpose of this preliminary meeting is to open the discussion’s between City Leaders from Woodward and Granger regarding the possible consolidation of the Woodward Police Department (WPD) and the Granger Police Department (GPD). This information will be used by the Woodward and Granger Police Chiefs to determine if the Woodward and Granger City Council will consider consolidation. This presentation will demonstrate the reality that Law Enforcement consolidation can increase accountability and generate overall efficiency.
The District shall be governed by a five member board which shall be known as the Woodward – Granger Law Enforcement Commissioners shall receive no compensation for serving in such capacity but shall be reimbursed for expenses actually incurred. Commission shall Consist of as follows. • 2 Commissioners from Woodward (Mayor and a Council member or 2 Council Members) • 2 Commissioners from Granger (Mayor and a Council member or 2 Council Members) • 1 member who is not an employee or Officer of either City.
• • • 24/7 Coverage Faster response Times Having an Officer always Available for the 7 Schools No on Call for Officer’s Officer Retention More Officers to assist with emergencies or warrants If an Officer gets injured there still will be an Officer Available to work Financial Savings while having 24/7 coverage Once combined we would have a total of 8 Reserves who work for a $1 a year
