Whitewood • Fast growing • Can be knotty • Can warp
MDF • All sizes and thicknesses • Cheaper than natural woods • No grain so doesn’t split • Consistent in all directions • Smoothes well • Accepts finish well • Shaped easily • Can blunt tools • Heavy • Not very good with water • May release harmful odours/dust
