Women Of The Revolution Many men and women took part and were harmed by the US Revolution. All of theses women took part in a big way. In fighting, sewing, and in warning the world

Margaret Corbin Margaret’s husband joined the war in 1775. He soon became a gunner. Margaret went to be with her husband at the camp ground. One day in 1765 she saw her husband get shot so she ran to his canon and shot away until she got wounded. She did not want to stop but she had to. The wound left her disabled. She soon got a award as the first woman to fight in the U. S. Revolution.

She said that Red is for courage and white is for purity and blue is for justice. Soon a small group of congress declaimed the flag with 13 stares and stripe the flag for the U. S. A
