Project Overview Project seeks to perform a technology baseline study that identifies the state of wireless capability and identifies appropriate technological solutions. Main project objectives are: 1. Evaluate current state of wireless connectivity in the shipyard 2. Determine if there any unusual circumstances (with respect to wireless connectivity) in a shipyard environment 3. Based on 1 and 2, create recommended approach to better connectivity in the shipyard 3 HARD STUFF DONE RIGHT A DIVISION OF HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES
What did we do? • Environmental Survey - Evaluate current and future business/technology needs - Assess current infrastructure • Technology Survey - Technology requirements - Technology alternatives • Recommendations and path forward 4 HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES HARD STUFF DONE RIGHT
Environmental Survey Shipyard Environment Use Cases Baseline • Application utilization • Type of data consumption • Environmental - Open / covered bldgs. / steel structure • Devices • Current connectivity • Interference - Current Broadcasting frequency saturation - Welding - Crane movements 5 HARD STUFF DONE RIGHT Production Use Cases • Ship on the hill • Ship in the water • Open areas • Covered slab areas • Rolling covers • Stacking / outfitting halls • Outfitting hall • Warehouses A DIVISION OF HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES

Environmental Survey Infrastructure Assessment • Wi-Fi and cellular RF assessment • Interference Testing - Measure impact of welding, grinding, crane moving, and general ambient electrical operations - No significant signal degradation exhibited • Open Space Signal Propagation Testing - Used to confirm that RF in open areas follows standard modeling data - No anomalies found, therefore standard calculations can be used for wireless design 7 HARD STUFF DONE RIGHT A DIVISION OF HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES
Technology Survey Technology Requirements Assessment • Identified appropriate wireless technologies that meet needs identified during the Environmental Survey • Examples of Wireless Technologies included and reviewed during the Technology Survey/Technology Requirements Assessment: - Wi-Fi 6 & Wi-Fi 6 E Carrier DAS (Distributed Antenna System) / DAS Hybrid Private LTE and 5 G CBRS (Citizens Band Radio Service) • Technology Requirements Assessment includes: - 8 Supplier environment List of suppliers by technology Description of suppliers Market comparison HARD STUFF DONE RIGHT A DIVISION OF HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES
Technology Survey Alternatives Assessment • Identified technologies evaluated with respect to the requirements and technical needs identified during the Environmental Survey. • Performed High Level Cost analysis regarding alternatives • The two technology alternatives best suited for Ingalls use cases based on cost and system performance are: - Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6 E - 3 GPP / LTE / 5 G Private Network solutions 9 HARD STUFF DONE RIGHT A DIVISION OF HUNTINGTON INGALLS INDUSTRIES
