Enhanced Radio Frequency (RF) Coverage • The ceiling is the ideal location for the access point and antennas, as the wireless signal is least likely to be blocked from the ceiling position • The ceiling mounting position is above most office obstacles, permitting the longest propagation paths and maximized coverage per access point • Oberon has tested its enclosures and antennas in an anechoic chamber to validate performance enhancements • When mounted on a conducting surface (such as Oberon’s enclosure) the pattern of a standard dipole is enhanced, with a general “flattening” of the omni-directional pattern. Physical Security / Environmental Protection • Wireless access points can be locked in the enclosure (most Oberon models). Most of the enclosures are all steel, deterring theft, vandalism, and tampering. • The door locks can have a common core, meaning, one key opens all locks in an enterprise, simplifying key management. • Ceiling enclosures protect access point, antennas, and cabling from collecting dust from the plenum space • Oberon’s NEMA 4 enclosures are designed for outdoor installations.
