Sense Wire Procurement · Luma, Osram and Toshiba wires were evaluated · Toshiba was considered the highest quality from initial test · Two pre-series of wire have been procured from Toshiba · Both have been evaluated · One has been approved and is being used in production · Full production order being submitted · Audit of facility tentatively scheduled for Oct 2000 Fowler Duke HEP 26 September 2000
Evaluate Cleaning Effects · Evaluate the affects of cleaning the wire in ultrasonic cleaner after wire joint process · First evaluate any damage to the wire due to the cleaning · Second evaluate the effectiveness of the cleaning process · Samples were evaluated uncleaned, after 30 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, and 10 minutes · 30 seconds was found to be as effective as longer cleanings Fowler Duke HEP 26 September 2000
