Wilsons prom/Tidal river
Wilsons prom is located SE of Melbourne. It is a 4 & ½ hr drive and is 319 km from Drysdale. Wilsons prom is a very big drive to Morwell or Warragul. You can stay in the free parking section of Wilsons prom /tidal river.
Indigenous Australians ruled the area at least 6, 500 years ago. The first Europeans to sight Wilsons Promontory are believed to be George Bass and Matthew Flinders in 1798. The Wilsons Promontory was used as commando training area during World War II.
When you camp at Wilsons prom/tidal river you can go for walks up the mountains, go for swims, walks on the beach or along the river. Points of interest are squeaky beach, little waterloo bay, Mt Oberon summit walk and great prom walk.
