Biography k 20 th out of 22 children. k Her father was a railroad porter and her mother was a maid. k. Born in 1940. k. Her mother decided she would do everything in her power to help Wilma walk again.
Biography k. Married her high school sweet heart, Robert Eldridge. k. She was tutored by her family. k. She was 7 when she went to school.
Personal Qualities k. She was focused on sports. k. She’s very patient. k. She was kind to poor people.
Motivation k. The doctors said that she would never walk again. Wilma and her mother wanted to prove them wrong. Wilma took classes to help her walk and pretty soon she learned how to run. She ran so well, she qualified for the Olympics.
Hardships k. She had a disease called Polio and Scarlet Fever and many other diseases. k. Her family was very poor. k. Her dresses were made out of flour sacks.
Accomplishments k. She qualified for the summer Olympics. She won a bronze and three gold metals in Rome.
Interesting Information k. When she retired she then became a successful teacher.
More k. She had 4 children and their names are Yolanda, Djuanna, Robert Jr. and Xurry. k. Wilma Rudolph died on November 12, 1994.
