When Wilma was younger she had her “left foot twisted inward and she couldn't move it back”, Wilma kept trying any way she could to move around. Wilma was known as the most famous woman in the world because of how many world records she broke. People used to call her a talented athlete, but back then people would think she’ll never walk again
Summary of Research When Wilma was young she was stricken with polio. She wasn’t allowed to walk without a leg brace but, she had taken it off even though she wasn’t supposed to. One day Wilma went to church and purposely took off her leg brace and, stumbled into the church and, everyone was surprised. Wilma was aloud to go to school because she took off her leg brace. Wilma was also aloud to sign up for track because she took off her leg brace. Later on she became a track star and won four medals in the Olympics
How did the setting affect ______’s actions? When Wilma was younger, she got polio and there was no cure. It left her foot crippled. When Wilma got polio she had to put on a leg brace and she couldn't take it off. However, she took it off anyway and was determined to walk. When was young they had no vaccination to cure her polio. If they had vaccines Wilma wouldn't have had to struggle to walk to become a champion

When Wilma was young she wanted to play basketball but she couldn't because of her leg brace but, whe 4 n she took it off she became a basketball star. Then in high signed up for track and became the biggest track star ever. If Wilma wasn’t determined she wouldn't have believed in herself and became an Olympic star.
