COVID Update • AIU programs will temporarily shift to remote instruction or services beginning Monday, December 14, 2020. All of these programs are scheduled to return to their current delivery models on Monday, January 4, 2021. • The following programs are among those that shift to a fully remote service model: ▫ Special education schools - Mon Valley, Sunrise, Pathfinder ▫ Alternative education schools - Community School East, Community School West ▫ DART preschool early intervention ▫ Head Start and Pre-K Counts
COVID Update • All other programs will continue to follow their current service and educational models during this time. Specifically, special education related services programs (Speech and Language; Hearing, Vision and Communication Access; Occupational Therapy/Physical Therapy), the K-12 English as a Second Language Program and the Non-Public Schools Program will continue to provide services in the same model as their host districts/schools. • AIU Family Centers will continue to provide limited in-person services such as food delivery.
COVID Update • Gov. Awarded Grants District has secured six additional grants since 2019/2020. Continuity for Education Grant from PDE for $29, 500 School Safety and Security Competitive Grant $478, 000 (includes the $30, 000 Meritorious Amount)-3 rd highest amount awarded among 43 school districts in Allegheny County ESSER/CARES Act Funds in the amount of $162, 000, $31, 504, $1, 048, 000 Recently awarded additional COVID Relief Pre-K funds for in the amount of $9, 988. 00
