Design Process • The Gateway Engineers was assigned by the Mt. Lebanon Commission to design and bid of an artificial turf surface at Wildcat & Middle fields. • We have teamed with JT Sauer, a experienced field designer that we already were working with on other artificial turf projects.

Design Process • JT Sauer and Gateway have been meeting with the Commission appointed Turf Task Force since January on a potential layout and design elements of the field. • We have met with turf vendors to review the project and confirm the budget for construction.

Engineering Considerations Stormwater Management The 2. 7 acre artificial turf project comprises 0. 7% of the 350 acre watershed that flows through Cedar Boulevard. • Heavily used natural turf does not percolate more than a 10 th of an inch per hour. Thus it already has a fairly high rate of runoff.

Engineering Considerations In accordance with DEP water quality requirements because infiltration cannot occur with any value, pollutant reduction is required: A Grass field according to DEP of 2. 7 acres creates 279 lbs. of total suspended solids, 1. 5 lbs. of Total Phosphorous and 1. 41 lbs. of Total Nitrates yearly. Construction of the new artificial turf will remove this pollutant load.
