Modern Fauvism! Draw Your Animal! Use Crayons, Pastels, Markers or Colored Pencils! Try to use bright, clean colors. Primary and Secondary. (plus white or black) Don’t think about “realistic” colors, most animals are “neutral colors” which means the colors are not as bright in real life.
Aboriginal Painting Technique The Aborigines of Australia are the native people and used a distinctive style of artwork! They worked mostly in silhouette (the outside shape of an object) and created complex patterns in and around the object!
Create a silhouette The silhouette is simply the outside line of any object. No details in the middle. Choose an animal and draw a silhouette by skipping the details in the middle or erasing them.
Add Details with dots and short lines Use a qtip or other flat round edge to stamp color and lines on your animal and the pattern around them!
