MI-WIC Policy 6. 02 states: • “During the initial certification visit and thereafter as appropriate, each client, parent or caretaker shall be advised of the types of health and community services available, where they are located, how they may be obtained, and why they may be useful. ”
Federal Regulations, CFR 246. 7(b) states: • “Program Referral and Access. State and local agencies shall provide WIC Program applicants and participants or their designated proxies with information on other health-related and public assistance programs, and when appropriate, shall refer applicants and participants to such programs. ”

Voter Registration Important Information (MI WIC Policy 1. 10): 1 - Remember to offer voter registration to all clients at certification, recertification and at the time of change of address. 2 - Help the client complete the VR Form when needed 3 - With Change of Address by phone mail VR form to client. 4 - Declination Forms must be completed when client answers NO, is under age 18 or already registered at present address.

Civil Rights (MI WIC Policy 1. 09)
Civil Rights All new staff must take the test immediately. Those who have previously taken and passed the test shall review the Civil Rights policy once a year. Names of those passing the test shall be reported annually with the Nutrition Services Plans and documented in MI WIC.
Civil Rights MI WIC Policy 9. 02 – Employee Compliance - Guidance #3 states: The Michigan WIC Employee Confidentiality and Compliance Agreement and Signature Form (9. 02 A) may be reviewed and signed by WIC staff in conjunction with the annual Civil Rights Training.
