Prompt • Fast forward to the year 2038. What will High School History classes be discussing about our current time period (2000 s)? There are events, people, ideas, inventions, policies, and issues that are IMPORTANT today. The importance will not end today but will forever impact History……
Important U. S. Historical Topics of the 2000’s INDIVIDUALLY: create a list of as many historical events, people, ideas, inventions, policies, or issues of the 2000’s (Need a minimum of 20) EXAMPLES: q 9/11 q i. Phone q Kobe Bryant
Important Historical Topics of the 2000’s NEXT: 1) Form a group of 4 students. 2) Compare lists and choose a topic for this project (have some backup options available because only one group per topic). 3) Each group needs to inform me of their topic and group members.
Project Requirements BE CREATIVE WITH YOUR POSTER’S TITLE q Two paragraph article on your topic (give facts, quotes, and other important info) (10) q Survey- 20 people in class outside of your group will be surveyed on an issue within your topic. Results should be shown with a graph or pie chart on your poster. (10) q Interview and Quotes- interview 3 students outside of your group. Ask each of the 3 students three in-depth questions about your topic. Include some of their responses within your two paragraph article. Attach questions and answers to the back of your poster. (10) q Printed color pictures or provide color illustrations on your topic. Printing must be done at home. Illustrations can be done in class. You need enough pictures or illustrations to make your poster CREATIVE. (10) q Presentation- present your posters to the class. Be prepared to answer questions about your poster. Presentations needs to be organized and informative. (10)
Requirements 1. Each group needs to discuss how they are going to complete this project. Assign a role to each member of the group. Make designated roles clear to avoid any confusion. • Failure to have your required materials tomorrow will result in negative points on your project’s final grade.
