Why Do You Relay? Picture here I Relay in honor of my father, Bob

Why Do You Relay? Picture here I Relay in honor of my father, Bob Strohmeyer. He was a hard working man all his life, and not only was he a great Dad, he was a great friend to all who knew him. In his younger days, he worked as a Laborer doing construction in which they installed a building material called asbestos. Little did we know that over 40 years later, he would develop Mesothelioma – lung cancer caused by asbestos exposure. He fought a valiant battle, but unfortunately it took his life in March of 2008. My husband Tizo got involved in Relay for Life and encouraged me to attend a Committee Meeting. From that day on I was hooked on Relay! I felt like I was doing something positive to take away some of the sadness of losing my Dad to cancer. After my first Relay, I drove home thinking about how I may have lost my father (who was such a big part of our family), but I now have a much bigger Relay family! If what I’m doing today will help someone else to either prolong their life or totally beat cancer, then I will gladly do whatever I can to make that happen. Join us in the Fight – support Relay for Life! But I warn you – once you experience Relay, you will never be the same! WHAT’S YOUR REASON TO RELAY?
