§ The Red Chair Project is a social initiative created in 2012 with the

§ The Red Chair Project is a social initiative created in 2012 with the aim of raising awareness about the Right to Education for the 58 M children around the world who don’t have access to education. § It was first implemented by two schools in Spain and in 2016 this initiative went Global. Since then it has been implemented in around 22 schools from different parts of the world. § By using in-class resources teachers and students from many Jesuits and Ignatian schools around the world have had the opportunity to acknowledge and understand this reality.

§ The Educate Magis – Entreculturas & Amigos of Fe y Alegria collaboration aims to: v To increase Awareness of the 58 million reality by giving the opportunity to schools to acknowledge why people do not have access to education v To increase Social Justice Awareness by presenting the reasons why this human right has been denied to 58 million children around world. v To increase Global Citizenship awareness (aware of being part of a Global Network and that global issues are everybody’s responsibility, we all nee to take action) v To increase Global Collaboration by working as Global Citizens.

v. We will accomplish these goals by communicating the reasons why 58 million children

v. We will accomplish these goals by communicating the reasons why 58 million children are denied the right to education. The messaging will focus on explaining different worldwide situations that have and are contributing to this problem, such as: poverty, infrastructure, gender issues, climate change, and conflict. v. We will provide community support and facilitate relevant resources to all motivated people and schools interested to implement and collaborate by implementing the project on their schools. v. We will also award all schools who implement and share their experience with a Red Chair Badge on the Educate Magis profile.

Through bi-monthly blog posts we will explain the 5 reasons why 58 million children are denied this human right. Poverty Infrastructure Gender Issues Climate Change Conflict v. Why do people not have access to education? Causes: An example, fact, explanation and what is the situation in our country? v. How can we help? Participate in the Global Red Chair + do more!
