WHY WAS JOSEPH SO CONFIDENT? • He was confident in God’s providence (Gen. 45: 5 -8; 50: 20) • He wasn’t always confident (Gen. 41: 51) • He had something to go on (Gen. 37: 5 -11) – That must have been difficult to believe for a long time. – It must have been difficult to not resent the dreams. – Their fulfilment was obvious, in the end.

DON’T UNDERSTIMATE GOD’S WAYS • Ecc. 11: 4 -5 – You don’t know the activity of God • Ecc. 3: 11 – You won’t find out • Rom. 11: 33 – Unfathomable ways • Don’t assume too much

GOD ISN’T THE ONLY EXPLANATION • Satan is active too (I Thes. 2: 18; Rev. 2: 10; 20: 7 -8; Lk. 22: 3 -4; Acts 5: 3… Mt. 12: 22 -24, 31 -32) • Chance is real (Ecc. 9: 11)

LESSONS / APPLICATIONS 1. Feel greater joy of forgiveness by understanding its nature 2. Don’t let your speech surpass that of Moses or Paul 3. Don’t ignore the possibility of God’s actions. Rather take comfort in it. 4. Don’t ignore the possibility of Satan’s actions. Rather take action against it (Eph. 6: 10 -17)
