WHO HAS GOD’S MONEY? Money, Time, and Talent

Let each man do according as he hath purposed in his heart: not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Co 9: 7

Stewardship “The careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care. ”

“God entrusted us with His business”

Rom 12: 6 We have different gifts based on the grace that was given to us. So if your gift is prophecy, use your gift in proportion to your faith. 7 If your gift is serving, devote yourself to serving others. If it is teaching, devote yourself to teaching others. 8 If it is encouraging, devote yourself to encouraging others. If it is sharing, share generously. If it is leading, lead enthusiastically. If it is helping, help cheerfully.

Christ died for every man. He has ransomed every man by giving His life on the cross. This He did that man might no longer live an aimless, selfish life, but that he might live unto Jesus Christ, who died for his salvation. All are not called upon to enter the ministry, but nevertheless, they are to minister. It is an insult to the Holy Spirit of God for any man to choose a life of self-serving.

Ministry means not only the study of books and preaching. It means service (Letter 10, 1897).

God is Less interested in HOW much we give, His main interest is the motive behind Why we GIVE. Edivaldo Abel

Besides, God is able to make every blessing of yours overflow for you, so that in every situation you will always have all you need for any good work. 2 Co 9: 8

Joh 15: 4 "Abide in me, and I will abide in you. Just as the branch cannot produce fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.

Application • God requires us to use our talents, resource, and time to advance His mission. • Every gift not properly used, God has the right to take it away • God owns everything, He basically doesn’t need my money, and my talent. But He entrusts me with resources, gifts, and money for me to learn to be selfless.

Group Discussion • What is the basic of Christian stewardship? Why does God reserve the right to require us to give Him a portion of our tike, talents and resources? • What portion of our time and financial resources does God say belong to Him? • Heaven gave its greatest gift, when it Gave Jesus as sacrifice for our sins.
