Who do you think is mostly affected & infected? AFFECTED-Community members, friends and families are the ones who are mostly affected. Although they don’t have the disease they share the frustration and grief of the people around them who are infected by the disease. � INFECTED. People who are infected are often less knowledgeable about the disease. At times it is either people are ignorant or reluctant to use a condom or sometimes their partners don’t tell them about their HIV status particular when they are in fact HIV positive. The disease does not discriminate and everybody is a possible victim. Statistics show that the highest rate of infection is in the age group 15 to 25. �
What would be the immediate effect if a cure for AIDS was found? It will strengthen the immune system and the infection will decrease. � People who are infected could regain their strength. � It wouldn’t be forgotten but it wouldn’t be known as the killer disease anymore. � People who are not accepted because of their HIV status will be accepted because then it will be curable. � The population will increase! �
What would you do if you found out you had AIDS? � We would be emotional at first and appreciate our lives to the fullest. � Start appreciating our families and friends. � Help people who don’t know about the disease. Give knowledge to those who have lost hope. � We will also take our ARV’s so that we could strengthen our immune system, and live longer with a healthier lifestyle.
