A Look Ahead… Transformation Examples • Directed Energy Test and Evaluation Capability – developing instrumentation for directed energy (primarily High Energy Laser and High Power Microwave). • White Sands was recently identified as the nexus for Future Combat Systems research, development, test and evaluation. This effort will involve numerous programs (including joint), and contractors requiring a variety of contract supplies and services. • Instrumentation and capabilities development continues to evolve particularly in the areas of network systems, (global information grid test bed), advanced systems instrumentation, telemetry, optics and, GPS, communications and radar systems.
