VSP • Strictly Voluntary • Designed to be a compelling option for staff who are interested in transitioning out of the workforce, or who would like to explore opportunities elsewhere • Limited period to apply - June 8 through June 30, 2020 • University will have the right to approve or reject applications • Communication of approval or rejection decisions will take place on July 10, 2020, and most separations under the Plan will be effective the last week of August • Offers a favorable package of benefits to help staff in their transition • Severance pay in the form of pay continuation (1. 5 weeks of base pay for every completed, benefits-eligible year of service, with a minimum benefit of 6 weeks of pay and a maximum of 35 weeks of pay) • Continuation of Northwestern’s portion of your medical insurance premium during the severance pay period, capped at 4 months • Two months of outplacement services through the University’s selected service provider
