Where have we travelled from and where are we going to? Date Presenter 26 th October 2005 Charlotte Warr
Why are we here anyway? “No man island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main” John Donne Meditation XVII 1624 …
Background… A belief that as worldwide claims adjusters we all needed better: • Communication • Awareness • Liaison • Education • Opportunities for discussion about areas of common interest
When we met last…. We heard first hand how other markets work We heard how the AAA deal with insurers spread around the world We considered the future given the lack of training available and agreed to be part of projects to improve the future We discussed the role of the leader within each of the markets and how followers are perceived in each of those markets We had technical presentations on Salvage, the Hydrographic office and what CMI were doing We heard how breakdowns in communication can lead to real problems with claims handling
And, equally importantly…. We had the opportunity to meet and get to know our professional colleagues from around the world in a relaxed, informal and most importantly neutral environment
Anything happened since we last met Training – some steps forward, some steps back! Still trying to get the P & I Clubs to attend…. with little or no success. Has any one been able to use the contacts made last year?
What about 2005? Germany Scotland Canada Ireland UAE Australia France Sweden Norway England Greece Russia USA Italy
What’s new for 2005? Workshops More technical sessions Longer conference 2 full days Some new countries represented
