We need to Offer Thanks • Gratitude for what He has done • 1 Thess. 5: 17 -18 • Col. 3: 17 • Eph. 5: 20 • Heb. 13: 15 • Luke 17: 15 -17, the leper who returned to Jesus

We need to Offer Thanks • We live in a selfish society where real gratitude is often lacking • Sometimes it is a mere platitude rather than genuine • Sometime people need to hear thank you • Let us lead by example and not be silent!

We need to Confess Christ • Romans 10: 9 -10, a part of obeying the gospel Acts 8: 37 • Matthew 10: 32 -33, not just in obeying the gospel, but throughout our lives • Not all confess Him now – John 9: 22 -23, 12: 42 -43 • All WILL bow – Phil. 2: 9 -10

We need to Defend the Truth • Philippians 1: 17, “I am appointed for the defense of the gospel” • Jude 3 • 1 Peter 3: 15 • We need to defend our God, our Lord, our brethren, His church, His word, etc. • Day to day conversations

We should Admonish the weak • The weak, indifferent and unfaithful need us! • 1 Thess. 5: 14, “warn the unruly…” • Galatians 6: 1 • James 5: 19 -20 • Matthew 18: 15 -17, step 1 when a brother sins • 2 Thess. 3: 15, he IS a brother!

We should Uphold Brethren • Some have no problem criticizing, rebuking, gossiping, etc. – when we SHOULD be quiet! • 1 Thess. 5: 14, “comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. ” • Acts 9: 26 -27, Barnabas • 1 John 3: 16 -18 – help them! • Will we speak up for one another?

Let us be silent when we need to AND speak up when we need to!
