1. WHAT YOU SAY AFFECTS ME DEEPLY. SHE WANTS YOU TO KNOW THAT YOUR WORDS MATTER AND THE THINGS YOU SAY STAY WITH HER – FOR GOOD OR FOR BAD. I’ve forgotten many details of our disagreements, but NEVER the things you has said to me during our disagreements. Jokes at my expense in front of others are never funny. Please don’t ever lie to me – even little lies. Lies can make me doubt so many things. I wish you knew that saying, “I am sorry”, over and over for the same things really doesn’t mean much.
2. LITTLE THINGS ARE ACTUALLY BIG THINGS TO ME. SHE WANTS YOU TO KNOW THAT THE LITTLE THINGS ARE WHAT MAKE THE RELATIONSHIP GREAT. The small things are so important. Know my love language and use it. Doing things for me should be a joy, not an obligation. What you say & do (or do not say & do not do) carries so much weight. When you say you will do something, and then don’t follow through, you are communicating I am unimportant to you. Little surprises can mean a lot. An unexpected text saying, “I love you. ” A small gift. An invitation to go to on an errand.
3. YOU ARE IMPORTANT. SHE WANTS YOU TO RECOGNIZE THAT SHE IS SPREAD THIN, BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU AREN’T THE MOST IMPORTANT. You are the most important – out of everyone in this world – and I would do anything for you. The world doesn’t give men a lot of credit, but no matter what the media says, we NEED good men. You are amazing. You’re my hero!
4. OF I WANT TO ACT LIKE WE ARE DATING. SHE WANTS YOU TO CONTINUE THE FUN, EXCITEMENT, AND PLAYFULNESS DATING INTO AND DURING MARRIAGE. Treat me like you’re still trying to win me over. I wish that you would initiate date night and maybe surprise me. Sometimes a girl just needs to feel swept off her feet.
5. PLEASE TELL ME THAT I’M BEAUTIFUL. SHE WANTS MEANINGFUL COMPLIMENTS TO MAKE HER FEEL SPECIAL AND NOTICED BY YOU. I need you to tell me I am beautiful. There is no one I would rather look beautiful for than you. I am insecure about my weight and appearance. Sometimes I don’t feel very beautiful, but tell me anyway. Pay attention and comment when it’s obvious I’ve put in the extra effort to look good.
6. LISTENING IS MORE THAN HEARING. SHE WANTS YOU TO LISTEN TO AND HAVE HER FEELINGS VALIDATED. Listening is about more than hearing. Please pay attention. Being observant is essential. I wish you knew how important it is for me to have time to just talk and chat with you. I love connecting when we talk about our memories, hopes, dreams, etc. I often don’t want you to fix it, just listen to me talk about it.
7. I AM PROUD OF YOU. WHAT SHE WANTS IS FOR YOU TO SEE YOURSELF THROUGH HER EYES. I wish you knew how proud I am of you. You have no idea how much I brag about you to other people. I appreciate you so much. All of your efforts make this relationship great and make me feel important.
