Now we’ve looked at how Brexit might work… How do you feel about the result of the referendum? Why do you feel like that?
The options • There are many options from here. Lots. But, we’re going to focus on three: • Hard Brexit • Soft Brexit • A 2 nd Referendum
Hard Brexit • The idea of a Hard Brexit is that the UK just leaves everything. As soon as possible. • That way, we can start making deals with countries all over the world much sooner. • We can also start to make deals with the EU, too – but from outside. This might make things a little easier to understand.
Soft Brexit • Some prefer the idea of a Soft Brexit. • That would see the UK stay in lots of the bits of the EU. We’d still sell them stuff and we’d still travel round Europe without checks. • We would not actually be a member of the EU, but it might look like we are.
2 nd Referendum • Some say that when we voted to leave on 23 rd June 2016, we didn’t know what we were voting for. • Once the negotiations are decided, we should therefore have another vote to see if that’s a future that we really want.
Over to you. • Adv. What future would you like for Brexit? • In groups, you need to agree on an future you’d like to see. • You need to create a campaign to fight for the future you want. • Campaigns could include: • Posters • Leaflets • Slogans • erts
