What is a Title 1 school? • Federally funded program • Provides funds to local education agencies to improve academic achievement • BFES of Excellence is a school wide Title 1 school • Title 1 schools are determined by a formula which takes free/reduced lunch participants into account

What does this mean for my child? • We can provide additional staff and materials to benefit our students • Full-time Reading Specialist • Full-time Literacy Coach • Tutors for grades K-5 who provide instruction through pull-outs • Small group instruction • Funds to purchase computers, promethean boards & other beneficial materials

Title 1 Reward School • BFES has been named a Title 1 Reward school for the state of NC three times! • Reward schools are in the top 10% of Title 1 schools in the state • Go Bulldogs!
