WHAT IS THE MEANING OF INTERACTIVE MEDIA? • What Is Interactive Media? • Interactive media is a method of communication in which the output from the media comes from the input of the users. Interactive media works with the user's participation. The media still has the same purpose but the user's input adds interaction and brings interesting features to the system for better enjoyment. • Video games, DVDs, cell phones and the Internet are an integral part of the modern day world. All of these technologies employ interactive media. Advertising and marketing agencies are looking for new ways to use interactive media to connect with customers. Educational institutions are expanding their reach by providing online degrees. • Interactive Media Overview • Interactive media allows for people, or 'users, ' to actively participate or interact with video games, websites and the special features sections on movie DVDs. The Internet is probably the most widespread user of interactive media today. You can interact with websites to shop online, play games online, take a class, chat with friends, watch videos and gather news and information. Interactive television might be the next innovation. It might allow viewers to participate in game shows or select alternate endings to their favorite programs and encourage children to interact with educational programs. In the 21 st century we have cinemas to go to and computers to watch movies and videos from this is a form of interactive media as well as anything you do on your computer and phone.
