What is the Dof. E?

The Dof. E is… A Dof. E programme is a real adventure It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from You just need to be aged between 14 and 24 You can do programmes at three levels: • Bronze (aged 14+) • Silver (aged 15+) • Gold (aged 16+) …which lead to a Duke of Edinburgh's Award. S 3 pupils can work towards Bronze this year

The Dof. E is… In S 3 you can achieve a Bronze Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections: n Volunteering: undertaking service to individuals or the community n Physical: improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities n Skills: developing practical and social skills and personal interests n Expedition: planning, training for and completion of an adventurous journey

BRONZE Time requirements • Two of the sections need to be done for 3 months, one of them for 6 months – you get to choose which you do for longest • Each section requires the equivalent of one hour per week

• Knox Academy programme is extra-curricular • Training sessions for the expedition after Christmas (after school for around an hour most weeks) • In addition you’ll be doing around an hour a week at least on one of your sections • Two 2 -day expeditions locally in the summer • Cost £ 22 for registration • Places are limited – complete the form sent out on your edubuzz email and return by Monday 30 th November
