WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? Let us go through scripture and find covenant attributes and verses that speak about them and see how the New Covenant has changed from the Old Covenant
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? The first attribute should be the one that is of the greatest concern to every one reading this. I think that is probably SALVATION. So let us look at Salvation in the scriptures and see what they say about it.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? To begin we will do the OLD Covenant to see what salvation was there, and where it came from. But first we should look at the word(s) translated as salvation from the original Hebrew of the OT.
SALVATION There are several words used in Hebrew and translated as salvation in the KJV. 1. Genesis 49: 18 has ; I have waited for thy salvation, H 3444 O LORD. Strong’s says number 3444 is ישועה yeshu ‛a h yesh-oo'-aw Feminine passive participle of H 3467; something saved, that is, (abstractly) deliverance; hence aid, victory, prosperity: deliverance, health, help (-ing), salvation, save, saving (health), welfare.
SALVATION 2. 1 Sa 11: 13 And Saul said, There shall not a man be put to death this day: for to day the LORD hath wrought salvation. H 8668 in Israel. Strong’s says number 8668 is תשעה תשועה teshu ‛a h tesh-oo-aw', tesh-oo-aw' From H 7768 in the sense of H 3467; rescue (literally or figuratively, personal, national or spiritual): - deliverance, help, safety, salvation, victory.
SALVATION 3. 2 Sa 22: 3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, H 3468 my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. Strong’s says number 3468 is ישע yesha‛ yeh'-shah, yay'-shah From H 3467; liberty, deliverance, prosperity: safety, salvation, saving.
SALVATION It seems all three come from the same root of 3467 which is ; ישע ya sha‛ yaw-shah‘ A primitive root; properly to be open, wide or free, that is, (by implication) to be safe; causatively to free or succor: - X at all, avenging, defend, deliver (er), help, preserve, rescue, be safe, bring (having) salvation, save (-iour), get victory.
SALVATION So the words are all related. Now lets find out where our ya sha comes from. In the first verse it is Jacob/Israel talking to his sons and making the statement of waiting on Yahweh for salvation. In the second example verse we see Saul saying that Yahweh has wrought Salvation. In the third example David, in verse 2 says Yahweh is his Rock. Then in the next verse he says Yahweh is the Horn of Salvation to him.
SALVATION In our three examples Yahweh is the giver of salvation. Lets look at a few other verses. Job 13: 16 He(Yahweh) also shall be my salvation 3444: for an hypocrite shall not come before him. Psalms 3: 8 Salvation 3444 belongeth unto Yahweh: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah. Psalms 13: 5 But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation 3444. Psalms 85: 7 Show us your mercy, Yahweh, and grant us your salvation. 3468 Psalms 98: 3 He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation 3444 of our God. Isaiah 25: 9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save 3467 us: this is Yahweh we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. 3444
SALVATION So Salvation is from Yahweh by his mercy! Well lets look at something from the New Covenant. Mat 1: 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. G 2424 Strong’s says G 2424 is Ι ησου ς Ie sous ee-ay-sooce‘ Of Hebrew origin [H 3091]; Jesus (that is, Jehoshua), the name of our Lord and two (three) other Israelites: - Jesus.
SALVATION Strong’s says H 3091 is יהושוע יהושע yeho shu a‛ yeh-hoshoo'-ah, yeh-ho-shoo'-ah From H 3068 and H 3467; Yehovah-saved; Yehoshua (that is, Joshua), the Hebrew leader: - Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Joshua. Compare H 1954, H 3442. H 3068 יהוה yeho va h yeh-ho-vaw‘ From H 1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Yehovah, Hebrew national name of God: - Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H 3050, H 3069. So 3068 -3467 is Yahweh- yaw-shah which becomes yeh-ho-shoo'-ah when written and pronounced in Hebrew. This is our Messiah’s name Yahweh’s Salvation. Once again Salvation is from Yahweh, and he is the author of it in both the old and new testament (covenant).
SALVATION Luke 1: 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; Luke 1: 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high has visited us, Titus 3: 5 Not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; I Peter 1: 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Master Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Jude 1: 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. In the New Covenant Yahweh’s salvation is only through His mercy, which by it he has sent Yaho-shua to be a propitiation for our sins. This is the same as the Old Covenant where Yahweh, by his mercy, granted his people salvation
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? Alright lets look at another set of verses about the covenant in Scripture. In the old Covenant we are supposed to do something with the commands Yahweh gives us. Deuteronomy 11: 18 And you shall lay these Words up in your hearts, and in your souls, and shall bind them for a sign on your hand(your work). And they shall be for frontlets between your eyes (in your thoughts). 19 And you shall teach them to your children by speaking of them as you sit in your house, and as you walk in the way, and as you lie down, and as you rise up. 20 And you shall write them on the side posts of your house, and on your gates, Proverbs 3: 1 My son, forget not my law; but let yours heart keep my commandments: Proverbs 4: 4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let yours heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live. It looks like we are to surround ourselves with his commandments both inside and out.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE COMMANDMENTS Another verse in Deuteronomy says pretty much the same thing. Deuteronomy 6: 5 And you shall love Yahweh your God with all yours heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. 6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in yours heart: 7 And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in yours house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon yours hand, and they shall be as frontlets between yours eyes. 9 And you shall write them upon the posts of your house, and on your gates Looks like we should meditate on them as well for wisdom. Psalm 119: 97 Oh how I love Your Torah! It is my meditation all the day. 98 You make me wiser than my enemies by Your Commandments; for they are forever mine. 99 I have more understanding than all my teachers; for Your Testimonies are a meditation to me. 100 I understand more than the ancients, for I keep Your Precepts. 101 I have kept my feet from every evil way, to keep Your Word.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE COMMANDMENTS But Jeremiah says there is a new covenant coming. Jeremiah 31: 31 Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, says Yahweh: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says Yahweh, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. So in the new covenant Yahweh will put his commandment directly in our hearts himself.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE COMMANDMENTS So why do we need a new covenant that does the same thing that we were to do in the old covenant. Hebrews 8: 7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. 8 For finding fault with them, he says, Behold, the days come, says Yahweh, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, says Yahweh. 10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says Yahweh; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: So the problem was with them, or actually with us, humans.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE COMMANDMENTS How will Yahweh write his Commandments on our heart ? 2 Corinthians 3: 3 it having been made plain that you are Messiah's letter, ministered by us, not having been inscribed by ink, but by the Spirit of the living Elohim, not in tablets of stone, but in fleshly tablets of the heart. So instead of ink on paper the Spirit will teach us his commandments and write them on our hearts. 2 John 1: 5 And now I plead to you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as all of you have heard from the beginning, all of you should walk in it. So walking in the commandments is how we love. In fact John says it is the very definition of love.
WHAT TO DO WITH THE COMMANDMENTS John 14: 15 If all of you love me, keep my commandments. John 14: 21 He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 15: 10 If all of you keep my commandments, all of you shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. So the Messiah also equates showing love with commandment keeping. I Timothy 1: 5 Now the goal of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith sincere: Romans 13: 10 Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. So does Paul. I John 5: 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. I John 5: 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. So does John. James 2: 8 If all of you fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, You shall love your neighbour as yourself, all of you do well: So does James
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? I t seems that so far the only difference between the old and new covenants is that Yahweh no longer depends on us to do what is right but he puts his commands in our heart himself with the Holy Spirit. The method of salvation has not changed it is still from Yahweh alone. A merciful gift from God to Man for those who show they believe in him. Exodus 20: 6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Our duty to Yahweh also has not changed.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? Exodus 20: 6 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Deuteronomy 11: 13 And it shall come to pass, if all of you shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love Yahweh your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, Ecclesiastes 12: 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Matthew 22: 37 Jesus said unto him, You shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. We are to love Yahweh with all our being !!
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? Leviticus 19: 18 You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yahweh. Deuteronomy 10: 19 Love all of you therefore the stranger: for all of you were strangers in the land of Egypt. Matthew 22: 39 And the second is like unto it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 6: 27 But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? In both the old and new covenants we are required to love our neighbor as ourselves. Whether he be friend or stranger. So there is no difference here between the old and the new. Okay now lets look at something that is usually brought up in this kind of discussion. The Sacrifices What are the differences there. Surly there has been a change.
THE SACRIFICES In Leviticus we see lots of regulations for all kinds of sacrifices. Are these still valid in the new covenant? What does Yahweh think about us doing sacrifices now? Well first lets look at a few OT verses about Yahweh’s view of sacrifices. Isaiah 1: 11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says Yahweh: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. Even personal sacrifices like fasting. Isaiah 58: 4 Behold, all of you fast for strife and debate, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: all of you shall not fast as all of you do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high. 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh? 6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that all of you break every yoke? 10 And if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall your light rise in obscurity, and your darkness be as the noon day:
SACRIFICES OK so what does it say about this in the NT. Mark 12: 33 And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. Romans 12: 1 I plead to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that all of you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. I Peter 2: 5 All of you also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. Galatians 6: 2 Bear all of you one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
SACRIFICES So it seems Yahweh has always prefered that we offer our time and tallents in the service of others rather than do sacrifices of animals. It got so that his people were so focused of doing the details they missed the point of his teachings on Love. There is one very specific sacrifice that was a big part of the New Covenant though. Without this one in fact we would not have a chance of being heirs to the promises with the Messiah.
SACRIFICE FOR SIN Numbers 15: 25 And the priest shall make an atonement for all the congregation of the children of Israel, and it shall be forgiven them; for it is ignorance: and they shall bring their offering, a sacrifice made by fire unto Yahweh, and their sin offering before Yahweh, for their ignorance: Hebrews 10: 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. Hebrews 7: 27 Who needs not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. Hebrews 10: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
SACRIFICE FOR SIN The sacrifices which were commanded in Leviticus were a demonstration of what the Messiah would eventually do for us. They described the method Yahweh set up for our redemption. Exo 12: 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 13 And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
SACRIFICE FOR SIN John 1: 29 The next day John sees Jesus coming unto him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world. Acts 8: 32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: I Peter 1: 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT It looks like in both the old and new covenants the sacrifices were to teach us about Yahweh’s plan for us , not about performing some ritual that would gain us salvation. Titus 3: 5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit; Using the pattern of the Passover sacrifice Yahweh was able to release us from bondage to the sin in our life and the penalty of death in entailed. Romans 7: 6 But now we are delivered from the penalty of the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. We are expected to use this new freedom from penalty to serve others with the gifts of our time and resources. Galatians 5: 13 For, brethren, all of you have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? Let us now look at another hot topic, FEAR. Many say the old covenant God was a god of FEAR. Let us see what scripture says. Deu 6: 2 that you might fear YAHWEH your Elohim, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you; you, and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged. Deu 8: 6 And you shall keep the commandments of YAHWEH your Elohim, to walk in His ways, and to fear Him. Deu 10: 12 And now, Israel, what has YAHWEH your Elohim asked of you, except to fear YAHWEH your Elohim, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve YAHWEH your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul; Deu 28: 58 If you will not take heed to do all the Words of this Torah, written in this book, to fear this glorious and fearful Name, YAHWEH your Elohim, Deu 31: 12 Assemble the people, men and women, and the little ones, and your foreigner who is within your gates, so that they may hear, and so that they may learn, and may fear YAHWEH your Elohim, and take heed to do all the Words of this Torah;
FEAR Pro 1: 29 Instead they hated knowledge and chose not the fear of YAHWEH. Pro 2: 5 then you shall understand the fear of YAHWEH and find knowledge of Elohim. Pro 8: 13 The fear of YAHWEH is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth. Pro 9: 10 The fear of YAHWEH is the beginning of wisdom; and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Pro 10: 27 The fear of YAHWEH prolongs days, but the years of the wicked shall be cut short. Pro 14: 26 In the fear of YAHWEH is strong trust, and His sons shall have a hiding place. Pro 14: 27 The fear of YAHWEH is a fountain of life, to turn away from snares of death. Isa 11: 2 And the Spirit of YAHWEH shall rest on Him; He will have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and power, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAHWEH. Ecc 12: 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear The Elohim, and keep His commandments; for this applies to every man. So the FEAR of YAHWEH is definitely part the old covenant. But is this changed to something else in the new covenant.
FEAR Rom 3: 9 What then? Have we the superiority, when we have before decided as to both Jews and Gentiles, that all of them are under sin? 10 According as it has been written, "There is none righteous, not even one!" 11 "There is not one understanding; there is not one seeking YAHWEH. " 12 All turned away, they became worthless together, not one is doing goodness, not so much as one!" 13 "Their throat is a tomb being opened; " "they used deceit with their tongues; the poison of asps is under their lips; 14 whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 ruin and misery are in their way; 17 and they did not know a way of peace; 18 there is no fear of YAHWEH before their eyes. " (Psa. 14: 1 -3; 5: 9; 140: 3; 10: 7; Isa. 59: 7, 8; Psa. 36: 1) 19 But we know that whatever the Torah says, it speaks to those within the Torah, so that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world be under judgment to YAHWEH.
FEAR 1 Ti 2: 8 Therefore, I desire the men to pray in every place, lifting up holy hands without anger and doubting thoughts. 9 So also the women to adorn themselves in proper clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not with plaiting, or gold, or pearls, or expensive garments, 10 but what becomes women professing fear of YAHWEH, through good works. 1 Ti 6: 3 If anyone teaches differently, and does not consent to sound words, those of our Master Yahshua Messiah and to the doctrine of the fear of YAHWEH, 4 he is proud understanding nothing, but harps upon the use of a word concerning doubts and arguments, and this is the cause of envy and controversy, evil-speaking, evil suspicions, 5 meddling, of men whose mind has been corrupted and deprived of the truth, who think that worshiping of Elohim is for worldly gain. Keep away from such people. Rev_14: 7 saying in a great voice, Fear YAHWEH, and give glory to Him, because the hour of His judgment has come; also, Worship Him who has "made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, " and the springs of waters. (Ex. 20: 11)
FEAR So it seems we are still to Fear YAHWEH in the new covenant. In fact to teach otherwise is called unsound doctrine. Paul also teaches us to keep away from such people who teach us that we don’t need to fear YAHWEH. But what does it mean to “Fear YAHWEH” In the OT the word fear is Strong’s 3372 which is used 151 times as fear. Strong. s 3372 - ירא - Yare‘ pronounced yaw-ray' Definition: to fear, revere, be afraid, to stand in awe of, be awed, reverence, honor, respect
FEAR Yes maybe we should fear the creator who has the power and the right to destroy us for our sins. But we should also be in awe of Him that he has such great love and mercy toward his creation that he does not. Yahweh certainly deserves our respect and reverence for who and what He is. And He certainly should be honored above all else in the universe for He is the Creator of it.
FEAR Something else we have seen in these verses about fear, along with to stand in awe of, be awed, reverence, honor, respect, we are told to keep his commandments as part of this fear/reverance. Ecc 12: 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. So the bottom line for believers is to Fear(love respect honor) Yahweh and to keep HIS commandments. This is our whole duty to GOD 1 Jn 5: 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? The answer to the question then is, there is no real difference, only the method of our motivation to do what we have been asked to do from the beginning. I John 2: 7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which all of you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which all of you have heard from the beginning. II John 1: 5 And now I plead to you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto you, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? So there is no difference, the covenants are one. We are to serve Yahweh and our fellow humans. Guided by the Commandments and the Holy Spirit which show us what Love is. Don’t be fooled by false doctrine that says the old has been done away with. Exodus 23: 7 Keep you far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay you not: for I will not justify the wicked. II Peter 2: 1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privately shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. There is no Old versus New. There is only Yahweh’s covenant. It is described in detail throughout Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. The only page in the bible that should be removed is the one between the end of Malachi and the beginning of Matthew.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE NEW COVENANT ? Did you know! The terms old and new concerning the covenant, or testament as they are now called, was coined by a man called Marcion. In the early church his doctrine was disputed by the church fathers. Nevertheless his dividing of the bible into two parts has stuck with us. He did this to explain what he thought was a contradiction between the God of the older books and the God of the teachings of the Messiah and Paul. Marcion incorporated many Gnostic tenants into his doctrine and was labeled as a heretic by the early church. As we have seen there is no real difference between the “Old” and the “New” covenant, other than what the Father has done to get his commandments into our hearts. The commandments exemplify love for the Father as well as each other, and have done so from the beginning. Do not follow a multitude to do evil by following old prejudices that have no foundation in truth. Exodus 23: 2 You shall not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shall you
THE CONCLUSION OF THE MATTER Hebrews 13: 8 Yahshua Messiah, the same yesterday and today and forever. 9 Do not be carried away by various and strange doctrines; for it is good that the heart be confirmed by grace, not by food, for it did not benefit those who greatly sought after it. 10 We have an altar of which those which minister in the tabernacle have no authority to eat 11 For of the animals whose "blood is brought" by the high priest "into the Holy of Holies" concerning sins, of these the bodies "are burned outside the camp. “ 12 Indeed, because of this, in order that He might sanctify the people by His own blood, Yahshua suffered outside the gate. 13 So let us go forth to Him outside the camp bearing His reproach. 14 For we do not have here a permanent city, but we seek the city coming. 15 Then through Him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to YAHWEH always, that is, the fruit of the lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not be forgetful of doing good and sharing, for Elohim is well pleased with such sacrifices.
