What is SIFCON SIFCON Slurry infiltrated fiber concrete
What is SIFCON ?
• SIFCON (Slurry infiltrated fiber concrete) is a composite produced by molding injection or pumping of short cuted steel wires before casting and customized cement mixture. • It has high ductility. Fiber content in fibrous concrete Fiber content in SIFCON %0. 25 - %3 % 6 -20
WHERE WE USE IT ? • Explosion and structures that may be subject to impact (ammunition, shelter, etc. ) • Regions where the energy absorption capacity is high • Strengthening against Earthquake effects
SIFCON CEMENT PASTE Cement Water Silica füme Super plasticizer We use these when we prepare SIFCON cement paste. We produce this mixture to be very ‘fluid consistency’.
PROPERTIES • High fluency • Resistant to decomposition • Do not segregation • High strength It should be produced with materials thin enough to allow for full occupancy ın a dense fiber network.
HOW WE CONTROL IT ? J ring- Flowability test
V funnel Tensile test
Fiber type and quantity Fiber direction Cement paste’s strength effect to SIFCON’s engineering Mineral admixtures properties Homogenous • When we produce SIFCON, we use steel fibers or glass fibers. • Steel fibers are divided into types such as rough surface, hooked tip and deformed. • Mostly we use hooked tip. • Fiber parallel compressive strength low
ADVANTAGES Flexural strength Resistance Outfit Crack control DISADVANTAGES Difficult production Not economic Special sealed mold
