Former Student Feedback Project Management Fast paced and time consuming is an understatement,

Former Student Feedback Project Management Fast paced and time consuming is an understatement, especially while deployed. Now that is by no means meant to be a negative statement in any way. Being immersed in these classes and the PM environment has opened my eyes to an entirely new way of thinking. I am heavily immersed in projects on the DOD side of the house, and now realize these fundamentals and tools we have been studying are of great importance. I have already begun incorporating some project management tools and concepts into my work place. They have assisted in mission and future project planning. I think the key is to begin using best practices now and continue to shape my project management thinking as I continue through these courses. Project Management Tools & Techniques There were a lot of interesting topics that were covered, they were all especially interesting to me because I had zero project management schooling prior to these classes. It was interesting to see how all of mine and other classmates daily activities are applicable to project management. We are constantly incorporating some mechanism of control or establishing a way to monitor something. Additionally we routinely "level the bubbles" on resources whether it be man power or computers, there is a never ending shuffle.

Former Student Feedback Risk Management “The Army is BIG on risk and risk

Former Student Feedback Risk Management “The Army is BIG on risk and risk management and I felt like I had a pretty good grasp on managing risk. In reality, I feel that my military experiences gave me a solid base for managing risk but the past several weeks have significantly increased my understanding, ability to identify and manage risk. The past seven weeks have provided me with additional tools for managing risk that will certainly benefit me in my career. In addition to increasing my ability to manage risk, the past 7 weeks stressed the importance of planning and developing contingencies. ” “My perspective of risk management has changed drastically from the beginning of the course. Before this course I was guilty of conducting risk assessment just to check the box. This course introduced the many advantages of conducting a thorough risk assessment. I found the concepts dealing with development of risk response interesting, and will definitely incorporate into future risk management strategies. Overall, I really enjoyed the class and found the information useful and will definitely use the tools in the future. ”
