What is Praise and Worship? Praise is recognizing the goodness of God and magnify Him. Worship is anything a person does to show love or respect to God. Did you know that God still wants us to praise Him when He helps us from a bad situation?

Moses and the Israelites Give Thanks Exodus 4 to Exodus 14

God appoints Moses as a leader. God’s people, called the Israelites were slaves. They had been praying to God asking to be free. They were treated poorly by Pharoah and his slave masters. God told Moses to go to Pharoah and tell him to let the people go.

When Moses told Pharoah that God said to let His people go, Pharoah refused.

Pharoah refused to release the Israelites, so God caused a string of plagues. Plague 1 – Nile turns to blood Plague 3 – gnats everywhere Plague 2 – frogs everywhere Plague 4 – flies everywhere

Pharoah became frustrated, and told Moses he would release the Israelites, but he changed his mind again. And because he changed his mind, God caused more plagues. Plague 5 – sickness of animals Plague 7 – hail storm Plague 6 – people had boils

Pharoah told Moses that he would let God’s people go, but he changed his mind. So God caused the more plagues. In fact, God caused the death of Pharoah’s oldest son. Plague 8 - locusts Plague 9 - darkness Plague 10 – death of oldest son

…finally Pharoah agreed to let God’s people leave Egypt.

In today’s story, Moses and the Israelites praised God when He helped them from a bad situation. Just like God helped them, He will help us too. And when He does, we can praise Him too.
