What is Foundation Openness Outside In By openness
What is Foundation Openness? Outside In: By openness, we mean foundations being open to hearing from their grantees and the people they seek to help — and acting on what they hear. Inside Out: We also mean foundations being open to sharing how they evaluate their own work and what does and doesn’t work. We believe if more foundations embrace this two-way openness, we will be more effective in our philanthropy and make an even bigger difference in the world. - Melinda Tuan, Center for Effective Philanthropy Outside In (Hearing from grantees) Inside Out (Sharing strategy/results)
What is User Experience? • User Experience is a discipline of the digital world. It’s often used to make sure the screens and websites we use are useful, usable and desirable. • User Experience draws from the broader fields of Human Centered Design (made famous by IDEO) and customer experience (revealed in the way places like Starbucks shape our behavior). • User Experience demands that we rigorously measure how useful, usable and desirable a product or service is for the user. • User Experience examines the overall experience someone has when using a product or service, not just the final transaction. • User Experience demands that we place our “customer” in the center of our strategy, planning and implementation, forcing us to stand in the shoes of those we aim to serve.
