What is employer’s liability insurance? � � � - Compensation for employees for their injuries at work or illnes caused by work - Protection for employers. Ensures that employer have at least a minimum level of insurance cover against claims - Liability insurance is compulsory
Accidents at work An estimated 629 000 workers in UK had an accident at work in 2014 Of these injuries: � 203 000 led to over 3 days absence from work; of which � 148 000 led to over 7 days absence (LFS). � 133 workers lost their lives. The rate of fatal injury was 0. 44 deaths per 100 000 workers. �
Barrister or Solicitor? Which of them can help us after an accident at work? Solicitor -When people talk about going to see their lawyer, it is usually a solicitor that they will contact. -solicitors advise clients, undertake negotiations and draft legal documents -They have specialist knowledge of different areas of the law such as family, crime, finance, property and employment. Barrister -Barristers do not come into contact with the public as much as solicitors. They are given details of a case by a solicitor -They work at higher levels of court than solicitors and their main role is to act as advocates in legal hearings

No win - no fee? � � � No-win, no-fee arrangements sometimes called Conditional Fee Arrangements - remove the risk from making a legal claim.
