What is Biomimicry Biomimicry from bios meaning life
What is Biomimicry? Biomimicry (from bios, meaning life, and mimesis, meaning to imitate)is a new science that studies nature's best ideas and then imitates these designs and processes to solve human problems. Studying a leaf to invent a better solar cell is an example. I think of it as “innovation inspired by nature. ”
COMPULSORY TASKS That means things you have to do…
Write your own definition of what Biomimicry is…don’t forget to give examples
Biomimicry is a replica of the systems and elements of nature. This influences designs of products, machines and transport. Examples of this that I researched are: • How architects looked at how birds fly to help design aeroplanes; • How Burr plants were used to help create the idea of Velcro; • How Beavers keep themselves warm in water was studied to help design wetsuits.
