WHAT IS AN INFINITIVE? • In English, an infinitive is any verb you use with the word “to. ” • In Spanish it is the base form of a verb – i. e. what it looks like before we do anything to it. • There are 3 types: -ar, -er, -ir – hablar (to talk) – leer (to read) – escribir (to write)
