What is a Water Cycle? By Monica Marshall November 5, 2012
Do we use and drink the same water as dinosaurs once did? Yes, We Do!!! This is true because water is always in a continuous cycle!
What is a Water Cycle? Water traveling in a continuous cycle. Evaporation Condensation Precipitation
Water Cycle Song Water travels in a cycle, YES IT DOES! (clap, clap) It goes up as EVAPORATION, Forms clouds as CONDENSATION, Then falls down as PRECIPITATION, YES IT DOES! (clap, clap) http: //www. youtube. com/watch? v=g_u. E_8 QQDTY
Evaporation The change of water from liquid to gas as it moves from the ground (or bodies of water) into the atmosphere. When water is heated by the sun it evaporates and changes into water vapor (gas). "It goes up as EVAPORATION!”
Condensation The transformation of water vapor to liquid water droplets in the air, creating clouds. As evaporation cools it turns back into little tiny droplets of water which come together to form clouds. “Forms clouds as CONDENSASTION!”
Precipitation Condensed water vapor that falls to the Earth's surface. Water droplets in clouds get heavier and heavier until the cloud can no longer hold them anymore and they fall as rain, sleet, hail, or snow. “Falls down as PRECIPITATION!”

Flip Chart Evaporation Condensation Precipitation What is it? What does it look like? Something I learned.
Evaporation Heat from the sun causes water to change from liquid to water vapor (gas), which rises into the air and cools.
Evaporation Examples
Condensation Cooled water vapor condenses (changes) into water droplets and forms clouds.
Condensation Examples
Precipitation Water droplets in cloud(s) become heavy and they begin to fall back to the Earth’s surface.
Precipitation Examples Sleet Snow Four Types: Rain Hail
Precipitation Condensation Evaporation
Remember This… ALL of the water on our planet is in a constant cycle. Water is always: 1. 2. 3. Evaporating Condensing Precipitating
