WHAT IS A SPACE SURVEY? n A SPACE SURVEY IS THE PROECSS OF ASSIGNING INSTITUTIONAL SPACE INTO OMB CIRCULAR A-21 FUNCTIONAL CATEGORIES BASED ON SPACE USE n THE SURVEY SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE INSTITUTIONS F&A RATE PROPOSAL. n THE RESULTS ARE USED TO CALCULATE THE PERCENTAGE OF SPACE THAT IS USED TO SUPPORT BOTH DIRECT AND INDIRECT FUNCTIONS AND SUPPORT THE SUBSEQUENT ALLOCATION OF SPACE RELATED COSTS TO THOSE ACTIVITIES. n MUST BE COMPLETED AND CERTIFIED BEFORE THE END OF THE SPRING SEMESTER OF FISCSL YEAR XX
