What Forgiveness Looks Like �Forgiveness acknowledges the hurt caused by sin, Exo 34: 6 -7 �Does not dwell on the hurt, 1 Cor 13: 4, 6 �God is hurt by our sins against Him, Gen 3: 11; Mk 3: 5; Eph 4: 30 �Forgiveness dwells on the remedy, Rom 5: 8; Lk 17: 3 -4; Jas 5: 16, 19 -20 3

What Forgiveness Looks Like �Forgiveness is an act of grace, Eph 1: 7 �Undeserved, not earned, yet freely offered and given, Isa 1: 18 -20 �Does not rejoice in another person’s sins, Prov 24: 17 -18 � Does not rejoice in the pain sin brings upon others because it understand we all deserve death due to our sins (Rom 3: 23; 6: 23) �Expresses compassion, knowing its own need for mercy, Matt 18: 27; Luke 6: 37 -38 6
