What do we do? • Eden House aims are to address offending behaviour and reduce the women’s propensity to offend. • Eden House is a One Stop Service that engages women to make positive changes to areas of their lives by increasing their access to mainstream opportunities and services. • We provide a range of credible options that reduce the number of women becoming engaged in the Criminal justice system or going into custody. • Addressing individual needs of women across all 9 pathways to reduce crime and the harm caused by crime, within Bristol and S Glos areas

Programmes and Activities • Housing & Accommodation: – Bristol City Council – Bristol Women’s Homelessness Board • Finance, Money & Debt: – On-site engagement Cashpointers Project – Referrals and Signposting to Talking Money, – Award Winning ‘Made of Money’ course, delivered by Quaker’s Social Action group • Drugs & Alcohol: – Alcohol Awareness Group – – Dual Diagnosis Worker ROADS – Drug testing – Engagement activities support recovery and abstinence • Physical & Mental Health: – Dual Diagnosis Worker – qualified Mental Health Nurse, able to undertake Mental Health assessments on site – Emotional Wellbeing Group – Thursday Mornings and Thursday Afternoons, focusing on: • Anger to Resilience • Self-esteem and Identity • Managing Anxiety – Smoking Cessation Service – Daily lunch clubs, access to emergency food packs – Food bank vouchers – Creative soft engagement groups – Batik, Arts & Crafts, Baking, Gardening, Fashion Workshops, Beauty & Skincare, Comedy Workshops (from August).

Employment, Training & Education: On-site specialist ETE advisors National Career Service – delivered by Specialist Probation ETE Officer SGS College & Eden House partnership – tailored Employability & Personal Development courses for Eden House Clients Bristol Learning Communities accredited courses in Family First Aid and Food Safety Volunteer Opportunities through Peer Mentoring/Client Lead initiative and BGSW CRC Volunteer Service Emergency First Aid at Work course run by Red Cross Attitudes, Thinking & Behaviour: VAMP – Victim Awareness Mini Programme, every Monday Morning Emotional Wellbeing Groups – Engagement Groups –rebuild confidence, self-esteem and a positive social identity Children and Families: Creche – provided by Little Hayes Nursery and Children’s Centre Support to help clients engage with social services and children’s centres appropriately Domestic Abuse, Violence & Rape Freedom Programme – facilitated by BGSW CRC Partner Link Worker and Next Link IDVA Referrals and Signposting to relevant local services i. e. Next Link, Survive Support to report and recover from Domestic Abuse, Violence and Rape. RARs, Supervision on licence for those serving less than 12 months custody. September 2015 Commenced Offender Management, increased delivery of offending behaviour interventions. January 2016 HMIP. Hypothesis that there would be worse levels of funding for women post TR. Feedback - Eden House is a ‘fantastic facility’. Very impressed with staff, programmes, pathway provision, links with partners and outreach. Considered it a real benefit that women can remain in service post sentence • Feb 2016 Opened Hub in S Bristol – Symes Ave 12 women 211 women linked to Eden House - 128 Feb 2015
