WHAT ? ? ?
COLOURS
The perception of COLOUR The colour is the feeling you get from the sense of sight from the incident light refracted or reflected by the surfaces of objects
refracted reflected
Can you see it ? ? ? incident RED reflected
Once more, When white light hits an object, some colours are reflected and some are absorbed. Reflected colours travel to your eye and give the object its colour.
When you see an object, the feeling of white appears as it reflects all the incident light. The sensation of black appears when all the incident light is absorbed.
Any other colour such as yellow appears when the incident light is only reflected in the part of this colour and the rest is absorbed.
In 1666, Isaac Newton proved the relationship between light and colour by passing a ray of white light through a triangular prism.
The light was decomposed into a variety of colours from red to violet. They are the colours of the rainbow
Different colours of light each have a different wavelength. Violet light has the shortest wavelength and is refracted most. Red light has the longest wavelength and is refracted least.
Now, you see !!!
The RAINBOW is a phenomenon of colour. When sunlight passes through raindrops, white light decomposes into seven colours, as in Newton’s prism.
The RAINBOW is an optical and meteorological phenomenon that causes the appearance of a continuous spectrum of light in the sky when the sun's rays pass through raindrops
The seven colours of the rainbow are Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue and violet.
How can you remember the colours of the rainbow and their order ?
