Imaginary characters like dragons, fairies, elves, and giants are often in fairy tales, too. These characters are often helpers.

Characters in fairy tales often have magical powers or magical things.

Wishes are often granted in fairy tales.

Things often appear or happen in ‘threes’ or ‘sevens’. These are called lucky numbers.

Characters in fairy tales sometimes have to take long or distant journeys.

A difficult problem is usually solved by the end of the story.

A fairy tale has a pleasing ending and often a happy ending phrase. …. and they lived happily ever after.
