What are question tags? � Question tags are short questions used at the end

What are question tags? � Question tags are short questions used at the end of a sentence. � They are used when asking for confirmation (потврдување) or agreement (согласување). There are two forms: � Positive sentences (потврдни реченици)⇒ Negative question tags Example: My son is naughty, isn’t he? � Negative sentences (одречни реченици)⇒ Positive question tags Example: You aren’t a lawyer, are you? PAY ATTENTION! When there are never, neither, none, nothing, hardly, seldom in a sentence, then the sentence is treated as negative, so we have a positive question tag. Examples: Nothing is done, is it? Nobody did their homework, did they? Exceptions Positive imperative - Stop daydreaming, will / won't you? Negative imperative - Don't stop singing, will you?
