Technology Goals Clearly identify learning outcomes through digital learning to ensure the appropriate technology is secured and utilized. Provide staff with high quality professional development on digital learning and the effective use of digital tools. Integrate digital learning into daily instruction to increase student engagement and personalize learning. Establish pilot digital learning classroom(s) at each school. Successfully implement the online MCAS 2. 0 this spring in grades 4 & 8.
Technology Priorities Redeploy existing technology to maximize usage. Replace aging devices with mobile tools. Re establish the Technology Committee. Transition to Google mail and pilot Google classrooms. Update policies. Move from Acceptable Use to Responsible Use & BYOD at the secondary level. Expand digital communication with families. Target 24/7 access to digital learning for students and staff. Enhance each schools communication and security by up grading the telecommunication systems and expanding the use of security cameras.
Current Vision Statement The vision for the Westfield Public Schools Technology Plan is to create a technology richteaching and learning environment that encourages collaboration, communication, innovation, and achieves academic and professional proficiency for all students and teachers respectively. We believe students and teachers should be able to use technology to: Enhance teaching and learning to meet the learning needs and styles of all students Engage in learning anytime, anyplace, by connecting the classrooms with world wide resources Procure, research, organize, and share information Think critically and solve problems Innovate and create new ideas Expression that is effective and creative Collaborate with other students and teachers anywhere in the world

Focus Area Objectives Assessment and Data To streamline and maximize the collection, analysis, and use of data. Curriculum Integration and Prof Dev To embed digital and personalized learning into all content areas. To support and prepare students and staff for the next generation of assessments (MCAS 2. 0). Equip all staff with the professional development necessary to integrate digital learning into their daily lessons. Focus Area Infrastructure: Policy and Sustainability Objectives Strengthen our technology infrastructure to support 1: 1, BYOD, and mobile learning experiences. Transition from an acceptable use policy to a responsible use policy. Identify strategies to sustain ongoing support and financing of technology upgrades. Programs Subscriptions & Interventions Other: To support the effective implementation of academic intervention for students.
