Some school routines…. Arriving in the morning/late First day absence Choosing/paying for lunch Buying/bringing snack Breaks/playgrounds Lunchtime First Aid/illness/ Head Bumps Medicines End of day
The first day… School for all children begins on Thursday 17 th August 2017 between 9: 10 am – 3: 15 pm. P 1 children should arrive between 9: 00 am and come into the this hall through the front door as they have been during transition. P 7 Buddies will meet the children in the hall and take them through to their class once all parents have left. Children will have a morning break and lunchtime break – both supervised by staff. Parents may collect their child at 2. 45 pm. We would ask you to come in through the main office door again. Photographs/video clips of your own child may be taken, but please be aware of who is in them, it should only be your own child, if you post them on social media sites. Parents should leavethe building, through the P 1/2 doors – A member of staff will be present on the exit door at this time.
The second day… Friday 18 th August 2017 between 9: 00 am – 3: 15 pm. Again, P 1 children should arrive at 9: 10 am and come into the hall through the front door as they have been during transition. P 7 buddies will again meet the children in the hall and take them through to their class once all parents have left. The main difference today is that the children should be collected by a parent or carer at 3. 00 pm from the infant playground doors. Please stand at the white lines in the playground. When you child is with the teacher, make yourself know by waving so that both your child and their teacher can identify you. Class teachers will not allow children to leave until they see a parent or carer is waiting for the child. This will allow you and your child to have a dry run before the P 2 s and P 3 s come out at the same time on Monday afternoon.
After the first 2 days…. From Monday 21 st August all children should be ready to line up with their class when the bell rings at 9: 00 am. Parents should stand at the edges of the playground allow their child to enter school independently. If you need to speak with someone, then please come round to the office, as the teacher’s priority will be their class and they will not be able to speak to individuals when bringing the lines in. Children will be dismissed at 3: 15 pm and should be collected by a parent or carer in the playground (please stand at the white lines in the playground). Class teachers will not allow children to leave them until they see that a parent or carer is waiting. If it is going to be someone different ( big sister, auntie neighbour etc), please let us know either by sending in a note on the purple cards in school bags or telephoning the office.
