Some school routines…. Arriving in the morning/late First day absence Choosing/paying for lunch Buying/bringing healthy snack Breaks/playgrounds Lunchtime First Aid/ Illness/ Head Bumps Medicines End of day
The first day…the morning School for all children begins on Monday 19 th August 2019 between 9: 00 am – 3: 00 pm. P 1 children’s start time will be staggered. P 1 a should arrive at 9: 00 am and come into this hall through the front door as they have been during the two transition days. P 1 b should arrive at 9: 10 am and come into this hall through the front door as they have been during the two transition days. P 1 c should arrive at 9: 20 am and come into this hall through the front door as they have been during the two transition days. Please do not come into the hall before the allotted time as this could mean a lengthy wait and can sometimes lead to children becoming upset. We want the arrival to be quick and relaxed. Children will have a morning break and lunchtime break – both supervised by staff.
The first day…the afternoon Parents may collect their child at 2. 30 pm. We would ask you to come in through the main office door again. Photographs/video clips of your own child may be taken, but please be aware of who is in them, it should only be your own child, if you post them on social media sites. Parents should leave the building, through the P 1/2 doors – A member of staff will be present on the exit door at this time.
The second day…the morning Tuesday 20 th August 2019 between 9: 00 am – 3: 00 pm. Again, P 1 children’s start time will be staggered.
The second day…the morning The main difference today is that the children should be collected by a parent or carer at 2. 45 pm from the infant playground doors. Please stand at the white lines in the playground. When your child is with the teacher, make yourself know by waving so that both your child and their teacher can identify you. Class teachers will not allow children to leave until they see a parent or carer is waiting for the child. This will allow you and your child to have a dry run before the P 2 s and P 3 s come out at the same time on Wednesday afternoon.
After the first 2 days…. From Wednesday 21 st August all children should be ready to line up with their class when the bell rings at 9: 00 am. Parents should stand at the edges of the playground allow their child to enter school independently. If you need to speak with someone, then please come round to the office, as the teachers’ priority will be their class and they will not be able to speak to individuals when bringing the lines in. Children will be dismissed at 3: 00 pm and should be collected by a parent or carer in the playground (please stand at the white lines in the playground as before). Class teachers will not allow children to leave them until they see that a parent or carer is waiting. If it is going to be someone different ( big sister, auntie neighbour etc), please let us know either by sending in a note on the purple cards in school bags or telephoning the office.
