West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital 2015 Stakeholder Report: Inpatient Stroke Program For more than 25 years, West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital has made a mission of helping patients reach their functional goals, while providing the highest level of post-acute medical care in a caring and culturally sensitive environment. West Gables is devoted to the rehabilitation of patients with various disorders and conditions such as; Stroke, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputation, Neurological disorders, Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal conditions. Additionally, our specialized rehabilitation programs are designed to meet the needs of individuals who have a broad range of acute and/or chronic illness that cause temporary or permanent disability. Our Comprehensive Inpatient Stroke program features an interdisciplinary team of physicians, therapists and nurses who are specifically trained and certified to help patients and families recover after stroke with the overall goal of challenging a normal return to life. The Stroke program provides a thorough educational series for patients and families utilizing internal and community resources to address all of the patients needs during his or her stay. An open access Q&A session with the program’s medical director as well as a comprehensive neuropsychology program is available to all patients and families. The therapy team utilizes state of equipment such as the Bioness Vector, Lite Gait, Vital Stim Experia and Bioness L 300 and H 200 to facilitate recovery in rehab. West Gables Rehabilitation Hospital provides both Inpatient and Outpatient services. Our Inpatient rehabilitation program offers patients at least three hours of skilled rehabilitation services (physical, occupational and speech therapy) five days a week and additional therapy on the sixth and seventh day based on individual needs with the overall goal of assisting our patients transition from a hospital setting back into the community.
