Mesopotamia A LETTER FROM MESOPOTAMIA. Dear friend, - I hope you will forgive me for not having written to you for such a long time… I hope that you and your family are in good health, as am I, despite the fact that the climate here is difficult for one from Wales to get used to. I must not mention my current location as this would only invite the censor to throw this letter into the fire. We are not far from "Johnny Turk" but as the heat is so terrible here it is impossible to get to "close quarters" with him. Private Alec Paul, R. A. M. C. , son of Private E. Paul also of the R. A. M. C. , the latter stationed at Netley, writing from Ei-Arish, says he came across Joe Yeoman, Harry Underwood and Jack Morgan, Cadoxton boys, serving with the Welsh Regiment. The R. A. M. C. team played 14 matches, resulting in 13 wins and one draw, for 45 goals to 8. Paul adds the gratifying “N. B. ” that the Barry Dock news is very popular with all the boys in the East. The Balkans St. David's Day in the Balkans The following letter has been received by Mr. T. Morris Walters, Brynamman, from ‘Somewhere amid the Balkan Hills’. After I had bidden farewell to Arafnah, Sek and Dan Davies, of Gwaun-cae-gurwen, I often thought of addressing you a few lines. But my time being rather limited, I have delayed until now; thus I hope that the old saying still holds good, ‘Better late than never. ' Never were Glendower and Goronwy more Welsh at heart and spirit than many a lad from Gallant Little Wales who is now in the Balkans.
