Membership – 416 • Club Constitution caps membership at 300 (written when 2 grass courts/ no floodlights) - we need to change this but to how much? • We had c. 330 members pre-pandemic • Huge increase in membership applications May onwards - with the ambition to grow the club and increase our revenue to help fund a new club house we let membership steadily grow whilst being mindful of court utilisation • At 380 members we only took on family members of existing members and people who were being coached • At 400 members we stopped taken on members with peak-time playing rights and only offered weekday membership • These members were promised priority to full membership when full memberships re-opens up in May 2021 • Membership now closed – some pressure on court space at peak times + a lot of admin work for voluntary based committee to manage

Facilities / Courts • Court 4: some issues with the surface, deteriorating faster than it should, we need to fix this • Court 6: needs resurfacing early next year, best to keep it as a hard court, contractor selected • Clay court: least utilised of our 5 floodlit courts suggesting not huge demand for another clay court • Hitting wall ? See next page • Floodlights • 1) New LED lights on courts 3, 4, 5? Cheaper to run, more environmentally friendly, better quality • 2) New lights on courts 6? Likely to be very, hard to obtain but looking at various options • 3) Token system for members – we know current system is far from ideal– we’ve looked at a) card based system – too expensive; b) linking payment to online court bookings – inflexible; c) including cost of lights in membership fees but is it fair to those who don’t use the courts in the evenings? ? ?
